Seasonal Farmworker Housing
Twenty-two apartments serve farm workers as they work in the production and harvest of vegetables and fruit in southwestern Michigan. The apartments open in April and close in November.
This property provides rental assistance for all 22 apartments. Occupants must meet eligibility of low-income where the monthly rent payments exceed 30 percent of a household's adjusted monthly income. Additionally a majority of income must be made from Farm Labor.
Hartford is situated in southwestern Van Buren County on the Red Arrow Highway, approximately one mile north of I-94. It is supported by mid-level manufacturing, including metal castings, and agricultural products processing, including fruit tree production, bean, corn and fruit processing.
